Lana Nathe, Principal

Lana is an innovative designer whose proficient in crafting robust lighting solutions for both residential and commercial projects.  With over 30 years of experience, her concepts set the mood; highlight architectural structures and works of art; and shed light on natural landscape features. Her completed work for over 1000+ private residences, nationally, has captured the attention of clients, city officials and editors alike.

Lana began her design career under the tutelage of Hans von Malotki at Buro Licht Design in Koln, Germany.  She later followed her passion in lighting to New York where she worked with Fisher Marantz Stone Lighting Design.

In 2005, Lana put her established skills in architectural lighting design to work and launched Light Insight Design Studio in Woburn, MA.  Later, in 2006, she moved the office to South Boston.

In 2007, Lana founded “illuminaleBOSTON08”, Boston’s first evening lighting festival which coincided with the Boston’s Inauguration of the Rose Kennedy Greenway project completion.  100+ Team members and 10 different locations around the city were illuminated for five evenings.  Each site showcased energy-efficient and creative lighting and proved that exterior lighting can aid in creative place making by adding excitement and beauty through light.

Today, Lana continues her notable work in lighting design.  Her portfolio includes custom residences, landscapes,  galleries, museums, restaurants, retail, corporate offices, houses of worship and urban place-making.

Emma Howland

Light Insight Design Studio is excited to have Emma join our team, originally from Wilmington, MA., and previous  graduate from Johnson & Wales University in Providence with her studies in  Hospitality & Event Management. She also worked for the University promoting in the Energy Conservation.  

Emma made a career pivot  and decided to expand her focus from Temporary installations to more Permanent design solutions.  Currently, she will graduate in May 2018 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Interior Design at Suffolk University- School of Art and Design. in Boston, MA. 

In her spare time,  she likes to volunteer for  Habitat for Humanity,  assisting  in the hand-on building  of  private homes throughout US,  upcoming trip will be in Mississippi.
